Spectrum Productions
provides complete production Johnson's Ferry Baptist Church
A congregation
of nearly 5,000 crowded
Johnson's
Ferry Fields in Marietta, Georgia to celebrate a forty
day church program that culminated with this event. Since
spoken word was the medium for the primary message, vocal
clarity was absolutely essential. The JBL Vertec system did
not disappoint. There were twelve elements per side, giving
even coverage all the way to the last seat, some 350 feet
back. To ensure everyone also was engaged visually, there was
a three camera live switch broadcast to an 18' x 24' LED wall
behind the stage. Spectrum Productions engineered the rig,
while the FOH was mixed by John Glover. The array was driven
by the Crest VX56 console, while the Midas Legend 3000 console
kept the Electro-Voice X-Array monitor system performing
flawlessly. Klark, BSS, Drawmer, and the new Yamaha SPX 2000
were used for processing and effects.
Spectrum
Productions rolls into Race City, USA with NASCAR
For
the fourth year in a row, Spectrum Productions provided
audiovisual support for the NASCAR Elite Series Awards
Banquet. This year's race series was sponsored by AutoZone
and the champion was Jeff Fultz. The challenge of this
event was to create an exciting high impact show like we
produce for the large NASCAR Busch Series and NASCAR Truck
Series banquets, but to do it on a budget. Video is critical
with dozens of video rolls. We knew we needed to use a hard
disc DVR. George Robbins engineered the event and said that
"our Omega from Fast Forward Video was the perfect choice, it
has instant cueing, play lists, and never plays audio
while cueing".

system represents the best audio equipment available in the
professional sound reinforcement market today.
Spectrum Productions is proud
to announce the addition of the EV XW-12 concert monitor
system to our inventory. After extensive research, we chose
the EV XW12 for its low profile and clean stage look. High
gain before feedback with excellent fidelity is a hallmark of
this system. Our twelve mix, sixteen box rig is processed
with EV DX38 digital processors and powered via QSC
amplification. Our racks have been configured into three, four
mix racks able to drive any bi-amp speaker available. The
XW-12 is a top choice of world class artists and engineers.
We have executed dozens of high SPL shows and this system
performs flawlessly.
Plasma Podium is Another
Vision turned into Reality
This
custom built podium was designed and fabricated by the
Spectrum Productions, Inc. scenic department. The vision
called for a bold, substantial look with the ability to
change client branding throughout the event. The centerpiece
of the podium is a vertically mounted plasma screen. Brushed
aluminum was formed and rolled in a dramatic "airfoil" form to
create the sides.
Omega is the Solution to
Video Roll Blues
Every producer knows video rolls can be a
challenge in a live event environment. The Omega DVR from
Fast Forward Video is the elegant solution to that challenge.
The Omega allows the tape operator to instantly cue any spot
on the "tape". But since it is a DVR (Digital Video
Recorder), the video is recorded to hard disc. Unlike
consumer-grade machines, the Omega records Betacam quality
video to fast SCSI hard drives. It also is dual channel so it
can record and playback at the same time with. For the
ultimate in control and flexibility, laptop computer
control is standard. Cue lists can be written for the entire
show with the complete name of each clip for the operator to
see. Even fast paced rehearsals, with cues being skipped
over, can be a breeze since cueing is instant.
