Spectrum Productions wins ISES
Allie Award for NASCAR Craftsman Banquet
Spectrum Productions was
awarded the 2005 ISES Allie Award for Best Audio Visual Design
for its production of the 2004 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series
Banquet. This event celebrates the achievements of the top
drivers in the NASCAR Busch Series. This event was attended by
almost 800 guests and televised on the Speed Channel to an
audience of millions from the Lowes Miami Hotel. We provided all
technical interface for in-room production services between the
Speed Channel, the venue, all entertainment and VIP's for this
gala black tie banquet and awards ceremony. "This show is all
about video" noted Spectrum Productions technical director Preston
MacIntyre. "Our video engineering had to manage over sixteen
input sources including eight Macromedia Director computers, seven
broadcast and record cameras, four Betadecks, two DVCAM decks and
two channels of Omega MPEG-2 routed to over 16 video displays.
Additionally, there were over 40 video rolls in less than one hour
of program!"
Spectrum Productions Wins
Again with the SEC
For
the third year in a row, Spectrum Productions provided audiovisual
support for the annual SEC Football Awards Banquet. Essential to
the success of the event was great lighting. The needs were
three-fold. First the lighting was required to be broadcast
quality for the i-mag cameras as well as the dozen plus cameras
from the networks and local stations. Second, the set which was
built in grey to take lighting well had to be painted with color.
And third, essential to the needs as specified by the client,
there had to be a way to honor all twelve schools of the
Southeastern Conference. Lighting was the solution, using gobo
projection onto the large architectural features in the Murphy
Ballroom at the GWCC. To ensure to that this lighting would be
spectacular, the gobos were layered with stunning moving
textures. All in all the results were an incredible sight when
guests entered the ballroom. So much so that the event was
nominated for an ISES Allie Award for the Best Use of Lighting.
