Spectrum
Productions Adds JBL VerTec Line Array Speaker System to Extensive
In-House Inventory |
|
|
ATLANTA,
March 11, 2004 – Spectrum
Productions announced today the addition of the new JBL Vertec Line
Array speaker system to an already extensive event production
inventory.
This award winning system represents the best audio equipment
available in the professional sound reinforcement market today. |
According to Rob Wilson, Spectrum
Productions chief audio engineer, “The VerTec Series is ideal for covering
medium to large audience areas. Anywhere
that (consistent) toneality and audience-area coverage is important, the
VerTec series has no equal. I’ve
had the privilege over the last 25 years of working with (sound) systems in
nearly every environment all over the world.
This rig is hands down the best sounding, most flexible and easiest
to install than anything I’ve worked with.”
The system is especially suitable for presenting live music, spoken
word, and full-bandwidth playback material in acoustically difficult venues.
It can work equally well in smaller indoor facilities or over large
distances in outdoor situations.
This
compact, high power system can easily handle large venues with smooth,
uniform speaker coverage, consistent with the performance JBL Vertec users
have come to expect. Due to the
4888’s SPL versus weight ratio, a cluster of four elements can be
installed with a single point weighing under 500 pounds.
Eight flown boxes cover over 2000 attendees.
The JBL VerTec line array systems currently in use worldwide are
receiving rave reviews regarding their sonic quality, high power output
capability and ease of rigging and setup.
VerTec is a truly unique system, not a copy
of every other line array currently available.
It is the first line array system to offer so much output capability
in such a small enclosure, to employ high-output dual-coil loudspeaker
components in an axially symmetrical format, and to provide system users
with a flexible, lightweight system that can serve such a wide range of
applications. JBL’s waveguide
and R.B.I. (Radiation Boundary Integrator – Patent Pending) are unique
acoustical elements with specific acoustical advantages not found in any
other system.
The
Spectrum Productions system consists of JBL VT4888 top enclosures and JBL
4880 subwoofer enclosures powered exclusively by Crown MA5002 amplifiers.
All cabling is done via a custom Whirlwind/CBI Cable system comprised
of industry standard connectors that allow tremendous flexibility and
intuitive conductivity. Streamlined
engineering in conjunction with the very fast and flexible JBL Vertec
rigging system, enable the entire system to be flown and wired in under two
hours. Complete system
processing contains racks of BSS, Drawmer, Yamaha and DBX devices, including
the Drive Rack 480, compressors, gates and equalizers.
Power
distribution includes Motion Laboratories 200 amp, 3 phase distribution
systems outfitted with rugged Hubbell-lock connectors.
The system is pre-engineered with JBL’s Array Calculator for each
venue’s use. Using the Array
Calculator, the system designer can accurately predict the sound pressure
level at all seats in the venue prior to setup.
This process eliminates the extra costs and time required to adjust
the sound system speaker array after installation.
Spectrum Productions anticipates the new
Vertec Line Array speaker system to not only bring more flexible options for
highly accurate sound to a variety of venues, but also to elevate its
already high level of creative production expertise while still maintaining
highly competitive price points for its clients.
